2 night minimum
Sunday to Thursday - $370 per night (inc GST)
Friday & Saturday - $390 per night (inc GST)
- Exclusive access to 1860 and surrounding garden
- Off-street parking
- Soft linen, fresh towels, condiments, tea, coffee, milk
- We supply enough firewood and kindling for evening fires during your stay. It is for that special ambience rather than the primary source of heating. If you wish to burn additional wood, it can be purchased at the Beechworth Service Station.
- WiFi Internet
- Our rates are GST inclusive - no nasty extra 10% tax on our rates
Please note, we do not supply breakfast. If you would like us to organise any supplies, please get in touch before your stay.
- Your contact details are securely shared with us and no one else
- We don't charge service fees on direct bookings so it's cheaper for you
- Deposits & Full Payments
- A deposit of 100% of total accommodation charge is to be paid to secure a booking. Credit cards (Visa or MasterCard only).
- Regular Cancellation & Refunds
- If cancelled within 7 days of arrival 100 percent of the total amount paid is forfeited. If cancelled more than 7 days but less than 14 days before arrival 50% cancellation fee applies. All monies paid will be refunded if we are given more than 14 days notice and we are able to resell the cancelled dates.
- COVID 19 :
- If you are unable to travel due to COVID 19 travel restrictions or ill-health due to contracting COVID 19, we are happy to refund your booking to the full amount or postpone your booking until suitable dates can be found. If you need to cancel your booking due to contracting COVID 19 or due to mandatory quarantine requirements, we will need a Dr's certificate or proof of your quarantine status to enable the refund.
- Code Red Bushfire Warnings:
- Unfortunately, bushfire can be a threat in our region. If there is a Code Red day forecast during your stay, we will give a credit or refund for any unused nights if you choose not to stay. These nights can be taken during the next 12 months.

- Check In/Out times:
- Check in is after 3.00pm, and Check out is 11am.
- Damage
- Any major breakages, damage to premises or loss of linen, utensils etc will be charged to your credit card.
- Cleaning
- Any extra cleaning required due extreme mess will be charged to your credit card at $50 per hour.
- Smoking
- 1860 is a smoke free venue inside however guests can smoke on the outside verandah.
- Children & Pets
- Unfortunately 1860 cannot accommodate children and pets (even though we love them!)
- We have a minimum two night booking requirement for bookings midweek and weekends.
- From Melbourne
- Travel north on the Hume Highway for approx 3 hours. Turn off the Highway on B500 the Great Alpine Rd to Beechworth and Bright (this is well signposted and comes soon after all signs to Wangaratta). Beechworth is a 30 minute drive after turning off the Highway. Travel along the Great Alpine Rd and take the turnoff to Beechworth (C315).
You will come into Beechworth on Ford St (the main road through town). Pass through the first (and only) roundabout (Post Office on one corner) and take the first right into Williams St (at the Old Beechworth Goal). Then turn left into High St and Surrey Lane is the second street on your right, after Billson St.
- Travel north on the Hume Highway for approx 3 hours. Turn off the Highway on B500 the Great Alpine Rd to Beechworth and Bright (this is well signposted and comes soon after all signs to Wangaratta). Beechworth is a 30 minute drive after turning off the Highway. Travel along the Great Alpine Rd and take the turnoff to Beechworth (C315).
- From Albury/Canberra/Sydney
- Travel south to Beechworth via Wodonga on the Beechworth Rd. After a 30 minute drive, you will come into Beechworth passing the Beechworth Secondary College and Beechworth Health Service. Keep driving until you see the Old Beechworth Goal and turn left into Williams St (bordering the Goal). Then turn left into High St and Surrey Lane the second street on your right, after Billson St.
- Beechworth has an excellent IGA supermarket which closes at 8pm Sunday to Thursday and 9pm Thursday to Saturday.
- A variety of specialist goods can be purchased at the Goldfields Greengrocer and high quality meat at the Beechworth Butchery. Beechworth Pharmacy is open weekdays and Sat morning.
- Beechworth has Commonwealth Bank, Bendigo Bank and WAW Credit Union branches. The Westpac ATM is inside the Beechworth Newsagent.
- 1860 is a walk away from the main street so no need for taxis. Just take the torch in 1860 with you if you're getting home late.
- There is limited Vodaphone coverage in Beechworth.
Our cleaning protocols have been enhanced to reassure all guests. Our cleaning staff have been issued with hand sanitiser, gloves and face masks. 1860 receives a deep clean between each booking including:
- Switches & electronic controls - lights, lamps, switches, TV & video controls
- Handles & knobs - doors, wardrobes, kitchen drawers, cupboards, fridge, dishwasher
- Bathroom - toilet, shower, bath, sink, taps, tissue boxes, hairdryer
- Bed - all linen, doona cover, pillowslips and sheets
- Hard surfaces - tables, desk, bedside tables
- Appliances - kettle, toaster, coffee machine
